Terms of Use

gecis.in turns a long web address into a short one and records statistics about the clicks that short address receives. It is in active development and is offered free of charge. There is no account system, no payment integration and no service level commitment.

You may not create links pointing at: phishing or credential-harvesting pages; malware, ransomware or exploit code; fraud, fake investment offers and pyramid schemes; material that infringes copyright; child sexual abuse material of any kind; hate speech, incitement to violence or terrorist propaganda; anything distributed by unsolicited bulk messaging; or anything else unlawful under the law of the Republic of Türkiye.

You also may not send automated or excessive requests, attempt to work around the rate limits or the verification step, or use the service as a stage in an attack on another system.

Anonymous use is limited to 10 links per hour and 50 links per day, counted per IP address. These limits can change without notice when they need to change to stop abuse.

We disable, without notice, any link that breaks the rules above or that a confirmed report identifies. Reports are reviewed within 48 hours. Report a link at gecis.in/abuse.

The service is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend part or all of it. If we shut it down deliberately we will tell the waitlist first.

Whoever created a short link is responsible for what is at the other end of it. gecis.in does not pre-screen destinations and does not endorse them. We are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service.

In Türkiye, link shorteners are sometimes made the subject of administrative access blocks because of content they point at. If that happens, short links may become unreachable from Türkiye. This is outside our control.

We may update these terms; the version on this page is the one in force. Turkish law governs them, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
